This system offers GATCO's superior sharpening performance in a very compact and portable knife sharpening system designed to meet the sharpening needs of travelers, sportsmen, military professionals and anyone who needs professional sharpening tools in a compact, lightweight configuration.  It includes a ballistic nylon pouch measuring 6.25" x 3.75" x 2.25" and weighs in at 14oz.  It will handle your cutlery with non serrated edges (optional accessory handles available to allow serrated blade sharpening).  While diamonds won't polish your edge like ceramics, they cut aggressively and fast, taking on the hardest of abrasion resistant steels and damaged blades successfully.  They are also low maintenace, working fine dry and requiring no flattening.  These properties provide the discerning sharpener with a sharpening instrument that will out perform any other type of abrasive media.

Like all their systems, this kit includes the exclusive GATCO® knife clamp/angle guide system which has a couple important distinguishing features.  One is that the clamp screws have knurled heads designed for finger tightening, so no tools required to clamp your blade.  Another is the 6 angle choices which span a wide range of angles - 11°, 15°, 19°, 22°, 25° and 30° (angle guide selection reference chart is included on instructions attached to inside of case lid).  The knife/clamp guide does a good job of holding most knives in place and ensures a precise honing action.

All GATCO® sharpening hone handles are ergonomically/safety designed to protect fingers and enhance comfort and have an integral guide rod holder with sliding guide rod: easy-out for use, easy-in for storage. The hones are longer and wider than competitive systems, allowing faster and more efficicent sharpening and their premium grade abrasives insure fast cutting of all steels, even those which have traditionally been difficult to sharpen.
