Edge Pro is now offering their standard aluminum polish tape blank with a hard anodized coating.
The coating protects the aluminum from dings and scratches so your polish tape will have the best surface to adhere to, and give you consistent and predictable results.
The hard anodized polishing tape blank is used as a mounting platform for lapping films like Edge Pro's 2000, 3000 or 6000 grit polishing tapes. The polishing tapes adhere to the polish tape blank, then the polish tape blank mounts in the stone arm so it can be used just like your sharpening stones.
Edge Pro's polish tape mounting blanks have gone through a progression of improvements. First the made the polish tape blanks from two pieces of aluminum extruded bar. The next breakthrough was one piece of aluminum extruded bar with a 1" X 6" piece of glass glued to the top.
The newest polish tape blank is made from one solid piece of fully machined aluminum. The top surface has been machined to be as flat as possible. And now they have added the anodized surface as an option too.
